Diabetic foot ulceration and amputation are still a major concern to people with diabetes. Many of these are preventable. But with increasing numbers of people being diagnosed with diabetes we could see an increase in foot ulcers and amputations. Early intervention is the goal to prevent amputation in those that develop an ulcer and prevention is the key. In this lecture we will look at the state of the art management of diabetic foot and some of the recent trials that have been performed to improve the healing of diabetic foot ulcers.
